An Election Year

2 Peter 1: 10 Across the global 2020 elections loom from Africa to Oceania and from Europe to the Americas with over more than one hundred nations set to send their citizens to elect a new government to the most high ranking post in their country. Yet a deadly virus (Covid19) has in many regions affected the election process as was the norm causing governments to delay or suspend elections however for the most part many have gone ahead to allow the people to exercise their franchise (vote). In a time where the central focus of the general populace seems to be focused on the Covid19 situation, the governments around the world have taken the stance that its important for the processes of government to continue. With regards to holding elections amidst the threat of a deadly virus, you may say is putting the life of electors in jeopardy, what it comes down to is choice. Its good that we look to the idea that no one can/should force the hand of an elector to go out and vote.  So...

20/20 Vision of Uncertainty

Most persons started off the year 2020 with a lot of hope and enthusiasm. Yes 2020 offered a great chance of living up to its idea of "2020 Vision" where we would be able to see perfectly clear all the missteps of the past and embrace the grandest of futures but before we knew it the "sh@t hit the fan". Everything just keeps going opposite to our expectations and plans however as the proverbial phrase goes "man a plan and God a wipe out".   A wise man once said, "many are the plans in a man`s heart but it is the Lord`s purpose which will prevail". (Proverbs 19:21) So let us be thankful that we have life even when the dance of death is all around us seeking to take us away in its merriness which is but for a short time.                                                                     ...

Without

Hebrews 6:11 What can we do without Air? How would be with Life? What would we be without God? Where would we be without Faith? Who would be without All the world has to offer? Indeed it is the Air that gives us Life which comes from God who by Faith we believe in for All the things we have access to in this world in which we live. There are so many things in life that we can live without yet there are those without which life would seem meaningless. Let’s say for example Faith/Trust. Without faith it is impossible to please God yet even closer to home it is impossible to have a fulfilled life. The opposite of faith is fear and doubt and once we allow those two weaknesses to overshadow over life and take president then we become an empty vessel simple waiting for death to call us home.   The sum total call of our lives as a popular belief for many is toward ascribing divinity to some aspect of the universe or to some incorporeal being many like myself refer to as God. The tr...

Land Sharks

Romans 5: 1-5/2 Timothy 4: 6-8   For many persons, the land is as dangerous as the sea because of the many sharks which traverse the territorial areas that is called life. No one can escape them even though they may try because the truth of it encounters with sharks help to add substance to one’s experiences. Life is designed so that sharks are an ever-present danger to test your faith. The Apostle Paul in his writings to Rome opines that tribulation (sharks) leads to patience and patience, experience; experience, hope (Romans 8: 4-3).   Land Sharks appear in many different forms such as people, places and things yet even so we have to push through because we have a resilient nature which lies at our very core, we want to survive; we need to survive. It’s as Charles Darwin puts it that we will adapt rather than choosing to simply no longer exist.  Not all sharks can be conquered or avoided but that does not mean that you will be destroyed because when the great sa...

Experiences: What Do You "See"?

Mark 8: 22-25   What you choose to "see" has and will always be determined by you and only you. By "SEE" here I refer to what you choose to become your constant or what you choose to be defined by in your life. For many persons there life experiences has led them to one state of perception and that’s one of doom and gloom with that little bit of hope which can spark a change in there whole existence. For others all they belief is left to do is take the plunge and end themselves.   Jesus healed a man once and asked what do you see? The man’s reply was I see men as trees.  What was really happening? The truth of the matter is that often times there are individuals in our lives who touch us in a very special way however we still need another touch, so that instead of seeing things in the wrong way we can see them as they truly appear.   As individuals who are streaming along the mechanics of time we all encounter situations which add significant experie...

Unmasked: Armored for the Pandemic

Ephesians 6: 10-18   The true pandemic that we face in our society today is sin, aside from the Bubonic Plague of the 14 th century, the Spanish Flu of 20 th the century and the Covid19 of 21 st century its sin that has remained the one constant throughout the centuries. Sin is simply the transgression or breaking of the law of the Creator. (1 John 3:4) So while we are able to use the many medical recommendations as precautionary measures to keep us safe the Apostle Paul in Ephesians also created a guideline that all can follow to keep themselves safe from this pandemic called sin.   For the evil one can transform himself and appear as an Angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:4) and deceive you so that you believe a lie. With this said it becomes wisdom for us to ensure we put on the whole Armor of God so that we can stand fast against the plans of the enemy.   Approaches to Preventing Pandemics   The Medical Approach   The...

Be Still; Give God Room to Work

Exodus 14: 1-16 Psalm 46:1-4 Philippians 4: 6-8/13.   The children of Israel were coming out of the land of bondage with a lot of the treasures of the land of Egypt freely given to them. However, the Pharaoh realizing his error decided that he had made a grave mistake and what he had done was give away his slaves. With that said he ordered his might army to go after the children of Israel to carry them back into bondage.   The Israelites whereby this time at the red sea with seemingly no available way forward. To the left and the right where two great mountain ranges and now getting closer to them was the mightiest army in the land. The people where now pretty much loosing faith and cried unto Moses have you carried us into this place to die; we were better off in Egypt under the task masters.   Moses was reminded by God that God would fight for his children (Exodus 14:14) God commanded Moses to command the people of God to go forward however he should lift ...
