Be Still; Give God Room to Work

Exodus 14: 1-16

Psalm 46:1-4

Philippians 4: 6-8/13.

The children of Israel were coming out of the land of bondage with a lot of the treasures of the land of Egypt freely given to them. However, the Pharaoh realizing his error decided that he had made a grave mistake and what he had done was give away his slaves. With that said he ordered his might army to go after the children of Israel to carry them back into bondage.

The Israelites whereby this time at the red sea with seemingly no available way forward. To the left and the right where two great mountain ranges and now getting closer to them was the mightiest army in the land. The people where now pretty much loosing faith and cried unto Moses have you carried us into this place to die; we were better off in Egypt under the task masters.

Moses was reminded by God that God would fight for his children (Exodus 14:14) God commanded Moses to command the people of God to go forward however he should lift up the rod in his hand stretch out thy hand over the sea and divide it. (Exodus 14:16) It was indeed very miraculous that as soon as Moses stood still, and that God began to work, and the people walked across the sea floor on dry land. The victory was not complete yet because after all the Israelites were safe God commanded Moses to stretch out the rod once again but this time to allow the waters to close. The Egyptians by this time were in full flight coming across the sea floor like a mighty flood but as Moses followed the move of God the waters returned to there place and destroyed the soldiers.

Its now that the words of the Psalmist David echo across the pages of history to me that the Lord is my refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. (Psalm 46:1) So no fear can stand before him that sits high and looks low because he is in charge of all the earth and its inhabitance because the lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. (Psalm 46:11)

The thing about standing still is that you will have to wait while God is working. The question becomes what you will be doing while you are waiting. The Apostle Paul tells us to put on the whole armor of the God so that we will be able to STAND…..still and watch God work.

In this time of Covid19 and all the disastrous happenings such as a seeming reemergence of the Bubonic Plague and an earthquake which hit Jamaica at 9:05 am July 13, 2020 the word of God says we should be careful for nothing, so we should not be worried but rather our focus should be on those things which are above and of good report because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. (Philippians 4: 13)

Many Hats

For many years I've been wearing many hats yet the thing that hurts is that none of those "HATS" were mine. At anytime all the positions that I occupied could be literally taken from me at any point then it hit me. Why not create a hat made by me and only for me that I have control over, that works for me in the way that I want it to work.    So I took a leap of faith and launched out into many new experiences seeking to unearth the path that would guide me to that one discovery that I felt would make me satisfied. I wanted to have a "HAT" that would work even when I wasn't because its so designed that exceptional is the true highlight.  Still not sure what a "HAT" is then its basically anything that is tangible that can be taken from you in away that "cuts you to the core" until it leaves a scare of your heart. Yet it's something that you are able to gain strength from if you decide to get pass yourself and the fear of loosing out a...

PATH FINDER OR FAULT FINDER

There are two (2) kinds of people in this world; its either you’re a Path Finder or a Fault Finder. Do you see the good in everything and even the bad as well and use that to chart the way forward or do you get stuck on everything that has gone wrong and use that as justification to not move forward with your life?   Path finders are resolute and stand on the promises that were/are declared over their lives because for them nothing can stop them from advancing to the next phase of their life. Interestingly enough they don’t see failure as a stop sign but rather they see failure as an opportunity to pause and make an assessment to re-establish themselves before moving forward once again. The reverse is also true for Fault Finders instead of working with the ninety nine percent (99%) of things that have gone right they find the one percent (1%) and zoom into it so much so that it becomes magnified as the 99%.   What do you really see? Do you see possibi...

Land Sharks

Romans 5: 1-5/2 Timothy 4: 6-8   For many persons, the land is as dangerous as the sea because of the many sharks which traverse the territorial areas that is called life. No one can escape them even though they may try because the truth of it encounters with sharks help to add substance to one’s experiences. Life is designed so that sharks are an ever-present danger to test your faith. The Apostle Paul in his writings to Rome opines that tribulation (sharks) leads to patience and patience, experience; experience, hope (Romans 8: 4-3).   Land Sharks appear in many different forms such as people, places and things yet even so we have to push through because we have a resilient nature which lies at our very core, we want to survive; we need to survive. It’s as Charles Darwin puts it that we will adapt rather than choosing to simply no longer exist.  Not all sharks can be conquered or avoided but that does not mean that you will be destroyed because when the great sa...
