THE MECHANICS OF TIME

    There are two (2) kinds of people in this world; its either you’re a Path Finder or a Fault Finder. Do you see the good in everything and even the bad as well and use that to chart the way forward or do you get stuck on everything that has gone wrong and use that as justification to not move forward with your life?   Path finders are resolute and stand on the promises that were/are declared over their lives because for them nothing can stop them from advancing to the next phase of their life. Interestingly enough they don’t see failure as a stop sign but rather they see failure as an opportunity to pause and make an assessment to re-establish themselves before moving forward once again.   Many years ago I remember my second graduation which was about to usher me into my secondary school education. Romans 5: 1-5/2 Timothy 4: 6-8   For many persons, the land is as dangerous as the sea because of the many sharks which traverse the territorial areas that is called life. No one can escape them even though they may try because the truth of it encounters with sharks help to add substance to one’s experiences. Life is designed so that sharks are an ever-present danger to test your faith. The Apostle Paul in his writings to Rome opines that tribulation (sharks) leads to patience and patience, experience; experience, hope (Romans 8: 4-3).   Land Sharks appear in many different forms such as people, places and things yet even so we have to push through because we have a resilient nature which lies at our very core, we want to survive; we need to survive. Ephesians 6: 10-18   The true pandemic that we face in our society today is sin, aside from the Bubonic Plague of the 14 th century, the Spanish Flu of 20 th the century and the Covid19 of 21 st century its sin that has remained the one constant throughout the centuries. Sin is simply the transgression or breaking of the law of the Creator. (1 John 3:4) So while we are able to use the many medical recommendations as precautionary measures to keep us safe the Apostle Paul in Ephesians also created a guideline that all can follow to keep themselves safe from this pandemic called sin.   For the evil one can transform himself and appear as an Angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:4) and deceive you so that you believe a lie. Exodus 14: 1-16 Psalm 46:1-4 Philippians 4: 6-8/13.   The children of Israel were coming out of the land of bondage with a lot of the treasures of the land of Egypt freely given to them. However, the Pharaoh realizing his error decided that he had made a grave mistake and what he had done was give away his slaves. With that said he ordered his might army to go after the children of Israel to carry them back into bondage.   The Israelites whereby this time at the red sea with seemingly no available way forward. 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 and Exodus 12 The year 2020 will stand forever as a year that has shaken the world with many signs and wonders that will stand in the minds of all. Echoed in  2 Chronicles 7:13 if I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if i send the pestilence among my people. On January 28 Jamaica was struck with a 7.7 magnitude earthquake which triggered a 0.4 tsunami in the Cayman Islands  which signaled the first of many major signs. Then striking even closer home in Mandeville Manchester, Jamaica fire gutted Heaven on February 21…. lol Heavens Gas Station leaving many severely burned and one dead who is a relative of my neighbour.  On March 13 what other parts of the world were grappling with now became a face to face issue for Jamaicans as we saw our first Covid19 case. As it was in the beginning so shall it be in the end. (Matthew 24:37) We are not facing our first crisis in these times neither will we be facing the last one of this and many generations to come. Yet despite all that is happening around us as the people of God we rest safely and peacefully in Goshen not as fools but as wise aware of the times because the days are evil. Goshen as revealed in the biblical text occurs in Genesis/Exodus as a place of safety; a space where the lands of the enemy could not touch Gods chosen people or where the ten Plagues of Egypt could not enter. Likewise, amidst the current global crisis rested assured that like the children of Israel in Egypt though you are tested and tried there is peace during the storm.
