Can You See My Screen?

With the global pandemic now sweeping across every facet of the world teachers, lawyers, tv presenters, along with many other professionals are now left in many cases without the regular face to face interaction. The result is that as a means of communicating with those individuals, groups and institutions in need of their services social media platforms have become more popularized as the world seeks to bring everyone to their fingertips.

One of the most popular phrases for me in these times has become like for many others is “can you see my screen”. “Sharing screen” has become the way to allow persons to see information in question for more clarity to be given to those in need. Indeed, a very effective way to communicate in light of the current world situation.

While “sharing screen” is so important its far more relevant as a people we endeavour to share of hearts with others who are in need right across the various aspects of our life. Essential though the question we should be asking is “can you see my heart?”; can you see my intentions in the things that I’m doing? and “can you see love in my actions?” As humans we often struggle to allow our intentions to be purely driven because of our own selfish disposition to the flesh.

In everything that we do we should be so led that no one will be able to question our motives because they are without reproach and guided by principles of virtue and justice. Too often we find ourselves in situations where our very integrity is in question because of one action we have committed for whatever reason. We have to draw of the universal truths of equal rights and justice for all and treat each person as ourselves.

It should never become a question of serving my gifts to help myself first but rather let me serve the world of my skills and talents and the world will in turn serve me not because of my service but rather it’s the culture of the society. We should not hide behind the screens of our hearts hoping not to get hurt by others but we should begin to open up ourselves once again to love and the idea of fellowship, brotherhood and peace. Its only then that the world will begin to look like it once was when fear was not the order of the day but love for country, love for fellowmen and love for self.

Unmasked: Armored for the Pandemic

Ephesians 6: 10-18   The true pandemic that we face in our society today is sin, aside from the Bubonic Plague of the 14 th century, the Spanish Flu of 20 th the century and the Covid19 of 21 st century its sin that has remained the one constant throughout the centuries. Sin is simply the transgression or breaking of the law of the Creator. (1 John 3:4) So while we are able to use the many medical recommendations as precautionary measures to keep us safe the Apostle Paul in Ephesians also created a guideline that all can follow to keep themselves safe from this pandemic called sin.   For the evil one can transform himself and appear as an Angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:4) and deceive you so that you believe a lie. With this said it becomes wisdom for us to ensure we put on the whole Armor of God so that we can stand fast against the plans of the enemy.   Approaches to Preventing Pandemics   The Medical Approach   The...
