20/20 Vision of Uncertainty

 Most persons started off the year 2020 with a lot of hope and enthusiasm. Yes 2020 offered a great chance of living up to its idea of "2020 Vision" where we would be able to see perfectly clear all the missteps of the past and embrace the grandest of futures but before we knew it the "sh@t hit the fan". Everything just keeps going opposite to our expectations and plans however as the proverbial phrase goes "man a plan and God a wipe out".

 

A wise man once said, "many are the plans in a man`s heart but it is the Lord`s purpose which will prevail". (Proverbs 19:21) So let us be thankful that we have life even when the dance of death is all around us seeking to take us away in its merriness which is but for a short time.  

 

 

                                                               2020 Uncertainty

 

Uncertainty lays behind every single door I`d choose to open.

No proof of what is to come but rather signs of all that is broken.

Oh how I wish I knew what these months held for me.

Yet the wider I open my eyes I truly can`t see 2020 vision can do nothing for me.

 

 

I push on though oft in despair.

I cover my ear hoping to escape all the bad news that`s in the air.

Beirut, volcanoes, earthquakes far and near. Covid! Corona! Ebola was ere!!!

I`m crying, I`m weary, my tears are of blood; we`re six feet apart so I can`t get a hug.

Be Still; Give God Room to Work

Exodus 14: 1-16 Psalm 46:1-4 Philippians 4: 6-8/13.   The children of Israel were coming out of the land of bondage with a lot of the treasures of the land of Egypt freely given to them. However, the Pharaoh realizing his error decided that he had made a grave mistake and what he had done was give away his slaves. With that said he ordered his might army to go after the children of Israel to carry them back into bondage.   The Israelites whereby this time at the red sea with seemingly no available way forward. To the left and the right where two great mountain ranges and now getting closer to them was the mightiest army in the land. Goshen: The State of Rest

As it was in the beginning so shall it be in the end. (Matthew 24:37) We are not facing our first crisis in these times neither will we be facing the last one of this and many generations to come. Yet despite all that is happening around us as the people of God we rest safely and peacefully in Goshen not as fools but as wise aware of the times because the days are evil. Goshen as revealed in the biblical text occurs in Genesis/Exodus as a place of safety; a space where the lands of the enemy could not touch Gods chosen people or where the ten Plagues of Egypt could not enter. Likewise, amidst the current global crisis rested assured that like the children of Israel in Egypt though you are tested and tried there is peace during the storm.
