The Plagues: Disastrous Evils or Afflictions

2 Chronicles 7:13-14 and Exodus 12

The year 2020 will stand forever as a year that has shaken the world with many signs and wonders that will stand in the minds of all. Echoed in 2 Chronicles 7:13 if I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if i send the pestilence among my people. On January 28 Jamaica was struck with a 7.7 magnitude earthquake which triggered a 0.4 tsunami in the Cayman Islands which signaled the first of many major signs. Then striking even closer home in Mandeville Manchester, Jamaica fire gutted Heaven on February 21…. lol Heavens Gas Station leaving many severely burned and one dead who is a relative of my neighbour.

On March 13 what other parts of the world were grappling with now became a face to face issue for Jamaicans as we saw our first Covid19 case. Then in April we heard of locust swarms across Africa and China and by May we were in shivers because of Ebola cases in Africa. By June we saw the Sahara Dust coming across the islands of the Caribbean. What next what next. Seven disastrous evils and yet still it seems we could be in store for more. But God declares if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  (2 Chronicles 7:14)

This whole situation of the global pandemic Covid 19 brings my mind to the ten plagues of Egypt yet there’s one Disastrous Evil or Affliction that stands out even more than any other and it’s that of the 10th plague death of the first born. If all these events continue to unfold where will we stand. Will we be found of the Lords side or will we be like the Pharaoh of Egypt who failed to heed the cry of Moses to release the children of Israel. He paid what could be seen for many the loss of a son; what will you be willing to lose to gain the REST OF THE LORD-GOSHEN.

Like the children of Israel were shielded from this 10th and other plagues we too as children of God should ensure our dwellings have the blood of the slain lamb on the doorposts. But we should have it placed on our heart. The blood/mark of Christ should be visible to all during this period of crisis because though the world is in crisis, we know that Christ is our….

Indeed the signs are evident yet persons still do not take heed. However, we the willing, have to stay close and draw even closer to God and encourage who we can. Great words sir.

An Election Year

2 Peter 1: 10 Across the global 2020 elections loom from Africa to Oceania and from Europe to the Americas with over more than one hundred nations set to send their citizens to elect a new government to the most high ranking post in their country. Yet a deadly virus (Covid19) has in many regions affected the election process as was the norm causing governments to delay or suspend elections however for the most part many have gone ahead to allow the people to exercise their franchise (vote). In a time where the central focus of the general populace seems to be focused on the Covid19 situation, the governments around the world have taken the stance that its important for the processes of government to continue. Its good that we look to the idea that no one can/should force the hand of an elector to go out and vote.  So...
